Dr. Saiful Mahdi, S.Si, M.Sc

Dr. Saiful Mahdi, S.Si, M.Sc

My area of interest includes Applied Econometrics, Official Statistics, Social Statistics, Demography, Survey Methods, and quantitative methods for policy analysis. But I have also a keen interest in Total Quality Management (TQM) and Statistical Process Control/Statistical Quality Control (SPC/SQC) both for indsutrial and non-industrial application. In post 2004 Aceh tsunami, however, I have also been learning about disaster and the "sociology of disaster" and relate them with my exeperiences and learnings on conflict, peace, and development. In these fields I have been studying many issues, from social capital, community development, regional planning, to environmental issues. Born and raised in a used to be protracted conflict area and still very much a disaster prone region, both natural and man-made, I study development in a critical and multi-discipline approach.
